Rudimental Drum Method for the Intermediate Drummer:
Follow-up to Fundamentals of Rhythm for the Drummer - by Joe Maroni
The purpose of this text is to acquaint intermediate drum students with the 26 rudiments of drumming. Each rudiment requires the development of a particular sticking, stick motion, stick height and rhythm pattern. The capability to play the 26 drum rudiments provides the student with the skill and technique necessary to play advanced drum literature, pursue other styles of drumming, and to proceed on to a high level of learning. All 26 original drum rudiments are clearly and sequentially presented. There are several exercises designed to develop each rudiment, then each rudiment is utilized in a musical context in several progressively written rudimental rhythm studies. Also, at the end of this book, there are seven rudimental snare drum solos appropriate for band tryouts and junior high contest.
This is the follow-up to Fundamentals of Rhythm for the Drummer (19187-B).
