Madol - Bengali
A clay Bengali folk drum. It is typically 12-14 inches in height, has an 8 inch treble head and a bass head of about 12 inches. The bass head produces a very earthy bass tone.

Mridangam (With Hooks) - India
This is a well made instrument. It is almost the same as the Pakawaj, but is put together with metal hooks instead of ropes. The bass head has an inside gob that is permanent. This instrument has a very bass booming sound that can be heard in large singing groups. Large Picture.

Nagado Daiko - United States
Made of laminated staves tightly fitted, splined and glued into a cylinder and turned on a lathe to dimensions traditionally used in Japan. The ratio of the head diameter to the length and to the diameter of the middle of the body is approximately 1:1.25:1.25. The interior of the body is hand carved with a pattern that enhances the deep tones and increases the sustain. The finish on the body is a deep penetrating stain with a tough tung oil finish on top. The heads are of the highest quality, hand processed in our shop from fresh hides, strong with excellent resilience and sound, and pulled to a tension that will yield a good tone for the life of the head under all conditions. The kan (handles) are each hand forged in our shop . Nagado taiko can be made in any size and to any specifications.

Nakers - United States
The inspiration for the Nakers set came from one of Ken's sound sculpture creations, the Naggara drums, in response to interest for a smaller, mass-produced version. The setup includes two clay, dumbek-shaped drums finished in a bright brass glaze, resting in a finely crafted wooden table. The drums are of equal size but have different thickness heads, allowing for varying timbres. A wooden foot pedal is attached to each drum with a dowel linkage, allowing each drum tuning to be changed while playing. Finally, mounted between the drums is a hand-carved cherry wood woodblock. To get a variety of sounds, the Nakers set comes with a pair of bamboo brushes and a pair of piano hammer mallets. Large Picture.

Ngoma - Remo
This is a very nice rendition of the African hand-carved Ngoma drums of Mali. If you are looking for a more polished, professional look to your drum, this is it. Machined hardware, gloss finish. This drum has a height of about 48" with a 14" head.
