Description: The Udek is a Dumbek with a closed bottom and a 2.5" hole on the side of the drum near the drumhead. Playing technique involves sliding the hand over the sound portal to get a glissando effect or to change pitch.  This drum tends to be somewhat higher in pitch and can be used as a solo voice.

Description: Uli Uli are feathered rattles. These are made from small gourds that are filled with seeds, small rocks, or even possibly shells. They usually have a somewhat long handle compared to the gourd size, that is covered with very colorful feathers. It is played in traditional Hawaiian songs by striking it against the opposite hand or upper leg while playing.
