Description: A single headed tom-tom with no outer shell. It is mounted to allow it to rotate while playing, thus changing the tone. These drums were created in the 1960's by percussionist Michael Colgrass. The inner frame is connected by an alloy frame, which is connected to a center spindle. The drummer can turn the frame either direction to change the tone and pitch of the drum.
