Description: These drums are played as a pair, and are similar to Steel drums or Steel Pans of Trinidad. Within the pair, each drum is given a name. One is called Mo (meaning male) and the other drum is called Fo (meaning female). The Fo drum typically has a deeper, bass sound and can have water poured through it (there is a hole in the bottom of the drum). They are played with small soft-tipped sticks or mallets called Damshing. |

Description: Played with the hand, and two clappers. The clappers are attached to the drum with twine, string, or animal hair. The hand is rotated around the drum head while the clapper hits the head. Made from wood (formerly from human skull). This unique drum has a hour-glass shape. It is played very similar to the Monkey drum of Africa.
