Description: These drums are played as a pair, and are similar to Steel drums or Steel Pans of Trinidad. Within the pair, each drum is given a name. One is called Mo (meaning male) and the other drum is called Fo (meaning female). The Fo drum typically has a deeper, bass sound and can have water poured through it (there is a hole in the bottom of the drum). They are played with small soft-tipped sticks or mallets called Damshing. |
