Description: The water-drum is made with large gourds, sometimes even buckets or any type of container. The largest part sits on the ground and is filled with water, a smaller up-turned gourd floats upside down and is beaten by finger-rings, sticks, a spoon or even sandals (flip flops). Largely used by women, these drums are played in a rhythmic ensemble with other percussion instruments.

Description: A single headed  drum, that is tuned using a number of wedges.  In Brazil, It is played in sets of three. The smallest drum is called the 'Le', the middle drum is the 'Rum' or 'Rumpito', and the largest drum is the 'Rumpi'. They are played with the hands or a stick, and due to their size, can also be played standing up.

Description: This drum is about 4.5 feet tall. It is covered with deer or antelope skin. The drum is usually tilted on a stand located near the bottom of the drum for convenient playing. The stand is called Vudetsi. It is played with the hands or a stick. The drummer uses many different strokes to produce a language, through rhythm, which imitates speech. This drum controls the 'speech' of the rest of the ensemble, and also sets the tempo for the rest of the players.

Description: Talking drums played as a pair or in an ensemble with bent sticks. It has a smaller opening at the bottom, and a larger body at the top. These are drums have been used by master drummers for many different occasions (a public appearance of tribal leaders, talks with ancestors, parades. etc. Sometimes the drum is carried on the shoulders of the front men, while the drummer plays from behind.

Description: This instrument is made from a hollowed gourd (by removing the seeds) and covered with a net of beads or seeds. The sound is produced by striking it lightly on the thigh and the palm. When struck to rebound off the thigh, a dry rattling sound is produced. When struck in a clap-like manner by the palm it produces a rattling sound combined with a tonal component from the vibration of the air inside the gourd.
